German lawmakers called for fair and free elections to be held in Georgia during a visit to the capital Tbilisi on Friday. The four-party delegation, made up of members of the German Bundestag’s foreign affairs committee, also criticized a new law to tighten controls on civil society in Georgia. “The parliamentary elections on October 26, 2024 are a decisive moment for Georgia’s democratic future,” said the lawmakers in a joint statement.
