The US government says it is examining the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas’ agreement to a mediated proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza. “We’re currently reviewing that response. And we’re discussing it with our partners in the region,” National Security Council Communications Director John Kirby said on Monday.
