Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of digitalization.
The focus of joint work between Poland and Ukraine is cooperation in the field of digital technologies and innovations, development of the IT industry, artificial intelligence, e-government, development of Diia and mObywatel, etc.
Registries and Starlink
“Poland is one of the key partners of digital Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the country has supported our digital state at the strategic level. In particular, it provided the infrastructure for hosting Ukrainian registries, which allowed the tax service to continue working and Ukrainians to receive electronic services,” Fedorov said.
In addition, he said, Ukraine has received more than 20,000 Starlink terminals from Poland, which provide Ukrainians with communication and the Internet.
“I am sure there are many more joint initiatives and important projects ahead for both sides.”
During his visit to Kyiv, Krzysztof Gawkowski noted that the Polish government will continue to extend the subscription fee for the terminals provided. This will allow critical infrastructure facilities to continue using communication services free of charge.
Polish-Ukrainian cooperation
“We signed the memorandum to expand the possibilities of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. I can see personally, and our Ukrainian friends confirm, that Poland’s assistance has a real impact on many aspects of the functioning of the Ukrainian people during the war,” said Krzysztof Gawkowski.
According to him, the Polish government will do everything to strengthen digital support:
“Ukraine must win the war, and strategic Polish-Ukrainian cooperation will help achieve this goal!”
The Vice Prime Ministers also discussed support in the protection of critical information and state registries. In particular, Poland has a data center for the State Tax Service of Ukraine, which Poland built on favorable terms. There is also a backup data center for the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, where important systems are stored. Thanks to this, the data of Ukrainians is kept safe and the digital state operates smoothly.
