A Chicago program that will test automated ticketing of drivers parked in bike and bus lanes downtown, already on the books for nearly a year, could be up and running by summer. City officials have highlighted the program, called Smart Streets, as a way to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians downtown and speed up bus service.
