Apple and Samsung continue to dominate the global smartphone market, taking all ten spots on the list of best-selling phones for Q1 2024, according to Counterpoint Research. This trend reflects a growing consumer preference for high-end devices, with seven of the top ten most popular models costing $600 or more.

All four iPhone 15 models are in the top ten

Apple takes the crown with the iPhone 15 Pro Max as the absolute best seller. This is the first time that the Pro Max version has been the top seller outside of the peak holiday season, which confirms the attractiveness of Apple’s premium offerings. All four iPhone 15 models are in the top ten, and the entire series firmly holds the first three positions. The popularity of the iPhone Pro line is undeniable, accounting for half of Apple’s sales in the first quarter of 2024 – a significant jump from 24% in the same quarter of 2020. The iPhone Pro has become the driving force behind Apple’s revenue, which now stands at over 60%.

Samsung secures two spots in the top ten with the Galaxy S24 series. The Ultra variant is ranked fifth, and the standard model is ninth. The series’ strong performance is attributed to advances in Galaxy AI, which offers users a new level of AI-powered experiences on their devices.
