Last month, Oppo announced the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro for the Chinese market. Recently, the brand confirmed that both phones will be available in global markets this month. However, there is a high probability that the global variants will have different specifications compared to their Chinese counterparts. The chipset and camera information that will be available in the global versions of the Reno 12 and 12 Pro smartphones was leaked by Chun, who recently revealed details about the 4G and 5G versions of the Reno 12F, and also leaked information about the chipset and cameras that will be available in the global versions of the Reno 12 and 12 Pro smartphones.

Before we dive into the details of the global Reno 12 and 12 Pro, let’s take a look at the chipset and cameras of their Chinese versions. The Dimensity 8250 and Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipsets, respectively, power the Reno 12 and 12 Pro available in China.

The Chinese Reno 12 has a triple camera with OIS support: 50-megapixel (Sony LYT-600) + 8-megapixel (IMX355 ultra-wide-angle) + 50-megapixel (Samsung JN5, 2x telephoto). Reno 12 Pro, on the other hand, has a triple camera: 50-megapixel (Sony IMX890, OIS) + 8-megapixel (Sony IMX355, ultra-wide-angle) + 50-megapixel (Samsung JN5, 2x telephoto) with OIS support.

Global Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro, camera and chipset leaks

According to the leak, the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, which will be released in global markets, will have the Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset on board. The global version of Reno 12 will have a 50MP+8MP+2MP triple camera on the back. This means that there will be no telephoto camera. On the other hand, the leak reveals that the global Reno 12 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel LYT-600 main camera, essentially a rebranded Sony IMX882 sensor.
