Half a century ago, Bishop’s Stortford resident Richard Baron started writing his diary in French to hone his language skills. Today, those memoirs have been translated back into English to create his first book, French Letters. The material has been collated into 25 different categories, including attitudes, language, food, the arts, immigration, religion, education, terrorism, holidays, “et j’en passe”.
