Liverpool fans knew they had seen the last of midfielder Thiago Alcantara but news of his retirement has come as a bit of a shock today. Thiago is to step away from playing football after an injury hit last few seasons robbed him of more time on the pitch for the Reds. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man will retire as a serial winner, having won two Champions Leagues, seven Bundesliga’s, and four La Liga’s, among others.
