Red Bull driver Sergio Perez needed to have a fantastic race to try and relieve some of the pressure on his future. After several poor races on the bounce, Sergio Perez didn’t even complete the first session of qualifying after beaching his Red Bull in the gravel on the outside of Copse. This meant that Perez knew he would have to drive from the back row of the grid to try and score points, although Red Bull then decided to make several changes to his car that required him to start from the pit lane.
