An armed forces charity will be celebrating an important day with a fundraising event – and you can join in. On Saturday, June 29, The Downham and District branch of The Royal British Legion will be hosting a bike ride to plant poppies on war graves within the district to celebrate Armed Forces Day. A poppy will be placed on the grave of every veteran in the branch’s patch. There are more than 140 of them in total, and all poppies will be placed on the day as members’ way of saying “thank you”.
