A large tree has been felled after an inspection deemed it could pose a risk to public safety. The yew tree, in Newark Parish Church’s gardens, was cut down early this morning. Newark and Sherwood District Council confirmed the tree had become uprooted and was at a dangerous lean. A replacement tree is due to be planted at a later date.
