Russia’s Central Election Commission has rejected the liberal opposition figure and anti-war activist Boris Nadezhdin as a candidate for the presidential election in March. The election commission, headed by Ella Pamfilova, justified its rejection of his candidacy on Thursday by citing a large number of incorrect signatures from supporters. The move means that, in addition to Russian President Vladimir Putin, three other candidates will be running in the election. The three are considered to have no chance of defeating Putin.
