The Lebanese Hezbollah militia has, according to its deputy leader, expressed openness to a ceasefire with Israel. In a televised speech, the deputy leader of the Iranian-backed organization, Naim Qassem, said he supported a corresponding initiative by the parliamentary speaker, Nabih Berri. “If the enemy continues its war, the field will decide,” Qassem threatened at the same time.
