The person killed Tuesday morning in seven-vehicle crash on Route 9 in Freehold Township was identified as a 78-year-old local man. Daniel Kaplan, of Freehold Township, died in the crash, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office told NJ Advance Media. Three others were also injured. While few details of the crash have been divulged by the office, the spokesman did say none of the people hurt suffered life-threatening injuries and that they were in separate vehicles.
