A volcanic system in south-western Iceland erupted on Thursday for the third time since December, ejecting glowing orange lava several metres into the dark morning sky. A lava field quickly formed around the long fissure that opened up north of the small coastal town of Grindavík, as could be seen in live video aired by Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV.
