Police at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport prevented a drunken flight attendant from departing on Monday morning, authorities said. During an alcohol check of airplane personnel, the flight attendant was stopped at 7:50 am (0550 GMT) with a blood alcohol level that would not have allowed him to drive a car, according to police. Airline staff have a zero alcohol limit and are forbidden from consuming alcohol in the 10 hours before departure. The man was required to pay a fine of €1,000 ($1,080).
