Newark Athletic Club runner Edward Buck did the job on Saturday night at the Stanford Invitational Meeting in San Francisco where he smashed the 29 minute barrier for 10,000m finishing 17th in 28-58. In the process, Buck set a new Newark record by over 20 seconds. A spokesman from the club said the milestone was a great start to the season. They added that Buck will be back from his period studying in the United States shortly and is likely to move up the distances to Half-marathon and Marathon.
