Liverpool simply must be in the market for new players this summer given their ambitions to progress. The Reds did clinch silverware last season in the form of the League Cup, but ultimately fell short in the league and elsewhere. Both Manchester City and Arsenal finished ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table, although importantly Champions League football was secured.
