A cat has died in a house fire, despite the efforts of emergency crews. The blaze started in the living room of the home in New Street, St Dunstan’s, Canterbury last night. A rabbit was also caught in the flames, but was thankfully saved after crews gave the pet oxygen using a specialist mask for animals. Two fire engines were called to the scene, where crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet, before using a high-pressured fan to clear the home of smoke.
