Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the head of an interim government in Bangladesh on Thursday, three days after prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s government was ousted in the face of deadly student protests. President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to Yunus, 84, as chief adviser to a 17-strong interim government at the Presidential Bangabhaban palace in Dhaka.
