The European Union has agreed to introduce tougher rules on the future use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the bloc. Negotiators from the European Parliament and EU member states agreed on a law to regulate AI in Brussels on Friday night after lengthy negotiations, in what the parliament described as the world’s first law of its kind.
