By Levi Winchester HMRC has urged people born between two dates to check if they have an unclaimed Child Trust Fund worth £2,000 on average. Child Trust Funds were offered to most children born between September 1, 2002 and January 2, 2011, having been launched by the Labour government. Children received up to £250 initially, or £500 for low income families, which was added to their Child Trust Fund. The idea was to encourage people to start saving.
