An application for new signs on a pub have been supported by a council. Southwell Town Council’s planning committee made no objection to an application made by the Stonegate group for a new sign on a town centre pub at its meeting yesterday (Wednesday, February 7). The application was for an illuminated sign reading “The Wheatsheaf pub and local” in green and gold to the gable end of The Wheatsheaf pub, on King Street, which is undergoing refurbishment.
