Shane Beamer could be closing in on hiring Darren Uscher to be South Carolina football’s new director of player personnel, GamecockCentral.com has learned. A report from On3’s Matt Zenitz on Monday evening also noted that the Gamecocks were “targeting” Uscher for the position. In that role, Uscher will play a key role in evaluating prospects from the high school, junior college, and transfer portal ranks, in addition to helping shape overall recruiting strategy.
