A requirement for New Jersey student drivers to log a minimum of 50 hours practice driving time with an adult was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy Monday. The law requires learner’s permit holders and student drivers under age 21 in the state to complete at least 50 hours of practice driving with a parent or adult, with 10 hours of night driving. The parent or adult would fill out a log documenting the practice. The bill will take effect in effect in 13 months.
