A man has rowed the equivalent length of the River Waveney – from the confines of his parish church. George Matthews spent nine hours on a rowing machine to clock up just shy of 60 miles. The 27-year-old said the row – completed in the dry surroundings of St Mary’s Church in Yaxley – was one of the toughest challenges he had put his body through.
