Residents face footing the bill for damaged verges caused by diverted traffic following a four-week road closure through Stansted. Affinity Water closed the main B1383 road into the village from Bishop’s Stortford at its junction with Forest Hall Road on January 15 to lay new water mains as part of its ongoing seven-month programme of works.
