Tokyo stocks pared earlier losses and rose slightly Tuesday morning, as companies the market considered oversold were snapped up in the wake of the Nikkei index’s five-day losing streak. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 28.47 points, or 0.08 percent, from Monday to 36,244.22. The broader Topix index was up 8.79 points, or 0.34 percent, at 2,588.52.
