HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. \- On Sunday at around 11:30 PM, a routine traffic stop for a bicycle safety violation escalated into a foot pursuit and subsequent drug arrest in Hernando County. A Hernando County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a man, later identified as Christopher Charles Clay, riding a bicycle without a headlight in the wrong direction on Cortez Boulevard.
