The Centre for Igbo Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, CIS-UNN, has declared that no effort will be spared in preventing Igbo language from joining its ancestors. The Center, which blamed parents for the poor knowledge of the mother tongue among children, said it has taken a bold step towards saving the Igbo language, culture and tradition from going into extinction.
