A 37-year-old man accused of “viciously” assaulting law enforcement officers during the attack on the US Capitol in January 2021 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, the Department of Justice (DoJ) said on Friday. David Dempsey had previously pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement with a dangerous weapon during the January 6 attack on the US Congressional seat in Washington.
