Canada’s Katie Vincent defeated Tokyo champion Nevin Harrison of the United States in a photo finish to claim gold in the women’s canoe single over 200 metres at the Paris Games on Saturday. Vincent set a world best of 44.12 seconds, finishing just one hundreth of a second ahead of Harrison. Bronze went to Cuba’s Yarisleidis Cirilo. In the women’s kayak single over 500m, Lisa Carrington of Australia claimed a second consecutive gold in the event with an Olympic best time of 1 minutes 47.36 seconds.
