The conservative governing New Democracy (ND) party is ahead in the European elections in Greece. According to preliminary partial results from Sunday after some 45% of the votes had been counted, the party of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis achieved around 27.6%, meaning it is likely to send seven lawmakers to the European Parliament. Far behind in second place are the left-wing alliance SYRIZA, with around 14.6% or four MEPs, and the social democratic party PASOK with around 13.4%, or three MEPs.
