China’s divers completed an Olympic gold medal sweep for the first time at the Paris Games as Cao Yuan won the men’s 10-metre platform on Saturday. The Tokyo 2020 winner claimed back-to-back golds with a score of 547.50 – China’s eighth win in as many events in Paris. Rikuto Tamai of Japan claimed silver and bronze went to Britain’s Noah Williams, who already had silver from the 10m synchronized platform diving. With the results in Paris, China now have 55 diving gold medals in Olympic history and have overtaken the United States as the country with most wins in the sport.
