There is a warning recent rainfall could cause flooding in part of east Kent. The Environment Agency has issued an amber alert, saying river levels on the tidal Great Stour are rising. An alert published on Sunday explains that higher river flows, combined with high tides mean that flooding may affect low-lying land near Canterbury and roads next to the Great Stour over the next few days. Locations most at risk include: Grove Ferry, Plucks Gutter, Stodmarsh, Ash Level and Minster Marsh but no property flooding is expected.
