The ruling conservative Croation Democratic Union (HDZ) has emerged a clear winner in the European elections, according to an early exit poll put out by HRT public television. The party led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has taken six of the country’s 12 seats in the European Parliament, according to the HRT poll, which gave the opposition Social Democrats (SDP) four seats.
