At least five people died and 35 more were injured in a fire in a high-rise residential building in Hong Kong on Wednesday, police said. Some 150 people were evacuated. The fire is believed to have started in a gym in the building, local media including the South China Morning Post reported. Eric Chan, Hong Kong’s chief secretary for administration, said there would be an investigation into the cause of the fire. Several lawmakers, including Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee, expressed their condolences to the bereaved families.
