The biggest save of the Blues’ winter wasn’t by Jordan Binnington or Joel Hofer (though the “Binner” save on the Cale Makar penalty shot was categorically quite big). It was by the nondescript but no-nonsense interim coach Drew Bannister, who, quite simply, saved the season. When Craig Berube was fired, it was deemed as one of those “well, you can’t fire the players” situations we see often in sports.
