Tokyo’s Nikkei and Topix stock indexes closed at all-time highs in choppy trading Wednesday, led by gains in technology and financial issues, as optimism continued to spread about the economic outlook. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 251.82 points, or 0.61 percent, from Tuesday at 41,831.99. The broader Topix index finished 13.65 points, or 0.47 percent, higher at 2,909.20. On the top-tier Prime Market, gainers were led by insurance, precision instrument and securities issues.
