Sony has confirmed the launch date of the Xperia 1 VI – May 15, which is just a few days away. Although the announcement is not official yet, many key specifications, including some camera information, have already been leaked thanks to promotional images.

Xperia 1 VI will be equipped with LYTIA sensors in all three cameras

Now the latest leak from HT Felix reveals all the camera sensors of the Xperia 1 VI. Surprisingly, the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI are said to feature the same camera sensors, but for different purposes. For Xperia 1 VI, the sensors and their purpose are as follows:

Ultra-wide (16 mm): 50 megapixels Sony LYT600 (1/2″ optical format)
Main (24 mm): 48 megapixel Sony LYT800 (1/1.4″)
Telephoto (85-170 mm): 50 MEGAPIXEL SONY LYT500 (1/2.9″)

For those who don’t know, the 50MP ultra-wide-angle and telephoto sensor is a significant improvement over the 12MP sensors of its predecessor.

In comparison, the Xperia 10 VI will reportedly feature LYT600 and LYT500 sensors in the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras, respectively. In addition, the Zeiss T* coating is likely to remain exclusive to the Xperia 1 VI. Previous leaked promotional images show that the 1 VI will feature an “Exmor T for mobile” image sensor, which could be based on Sony’s LYT800 sensor.

The Xperia 1 VI is expected to feature a 19.5:9 OLED display, which is a significant shift from the narrow 21:9 display of the Xperia 1 V. It is also reported that the display will be 1.5 times brighter than its predecessor. The leaked promotional images also hint at an improved heat dissipation system that should help when using the camera outdoors.

Nevertheless, this is still a leak at the moment, and we suggest taking it with a grain of salt.
