Oppo released the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra in January this year. At the end of March, the company also released a satellite version of the Find X7 Ultra with most of the other specifications unchanged. Although the latest addition to the Find X7 series is only two months away, there are already reports of a successor to the Find X8 series in the news.

Today, a reliable Digital Chat Station informant said that Oppo has accelerated the pace of development of the Find X8 series. He added that the company could launch the Find X8 series in early Q4 2024.

According to previous rumors, the Find X8 may use the upcoming Dimensity flagship, while the Ultra model will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is similar to the Find X7 series. Along with the next-generation flagship chips, the Find X8 Ultra may finally offer an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. However, the Find X8 may stay with an optical fingerprint scanner.

If the latest news is true, the Find X8 series could be in direct competition with the Xiaomi 15 series with a similar launch time. OnePlus 13 could also be released around the same time.

Previously, it was expected that the first model with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (which could be released in mid-October) would again be Xiaomi’s flagship. Now, this seems doubtful given the expected early release date of Oppo’s next flagship. Nevertheless, according to insider Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi still has exclusive rights to the first launch of flagship Snapdragon chips.

As for Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship, it will be equipped with the company’s own Oryon processor cores with a 2+6 architecture. There is not much information about either the phone or the chip at the moment, but we will share details as soon as they become available.
