China has welcomed the outcome of an independent investigation which found no wrongdoing in the decision to clear Chinese swimmers of doping ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Independent investigator Eric Cottier ruled that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) had no case to answer in its ruling over 23 Chinese swimmers, who tested positive for heart medication trimetazidine.
