Being an optimistic person can add another ten years to your life expectancy, according to new research carried out in the US. A study has found that those who always look on the brighter side of life were more likely to live past the age of 90. A scientist from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston said, and I quote, that optimism was equally as good as exercise. The findings, published in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society, are based on 160,000 women in the US, tracked for up to 26 years.
