Volunteer firefighters are leading a community effort to aid some of their own after a Warren County barn fire left a family farm in shambles. Some 400 chickens and 40 pigs perished in the fire early Thursday at Hope Cress Farms in Hope Township. The Hope Volunteer Fire Department said the barn was engulfed in flames upon their arrival, but they were able to at least save the farm’s greenhouse and other structures.
