The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, sacked the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon, on Monday. A statement signed by Enobong Uwah, the Secretary to the State Government, did not give reasons for relieving the commissioner of his appointment but rather directed Okon to hand over all property of government in his position to the permanent secretary in the ministry.
