Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen rebounded from his 1,500 metres disaster with an emphatic run to 5,000m gold at the Paris Olympics. Twice world champion over the distance, Ingebrigtsen stormed away from all rivals in the last turn for victory in 13 minutes 13.66 seconds. Kenya’s Ronald Kwemoi took silver in 13:15.04, and bronze went to American Grant Fisher, as in the 10,000m.
