Firefighters are battling a fire at a multi-story building a little more than a block off the Boardwalk on Thursday morning. Photos and video from the fire on South Georgia Avenue show flames and thick plumes of smoke pouring from the top floor and roof of the four-floor building as firefighters sprayed water from ladders. A sign outside the building lists it as as “Hotel Cassino” offering rooms for rent. 6abc.com said the fire broke out around 8 a.m. and that one person was on a stretcher.
