The 2029 world aquatics championships will take place in Beijing, the ruling body World Aquatics said on Sunday. World Aquatics said that China in general and the capital of Beijing in particular have a long history of staging water sports events and that Beijing has also hosted the Olympics twice and other major sports events. China has hosted the worlds once before, 2011 in Shanghai. The announcement came at the current worlds in Doha. The 2025 edition is in Singapore and 2027 in Budapest.
