The Italians never looked in danger and cruised to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 triumph to claim their first-ever women’s volleyball medal at the Olympics. Bronze went to twice Olympic champions Brazil, who on Saturday defeated Turkey 3-1. In the men’s event, hosts France defeated Poland to take gold, while the US won bronze.
