I wasn’t entirely surprised by the comments of Newark Town Council with regard to the widening of the Newark Bypass (A46), and given the rising costs. I was living in Coddington when both it and the A17 road was realigned and even then it seemed as if it would not cope with the increasing amount of traffic travelling from west to east and vice versa. And I never thought that the interchange with the A1 had ever properly been thought through given that traffic has to manoeuvre around two roundabouts each side of the A1.
